Ice committee

1. Develop a procedure for testing of podded propellers in ice. This should be based on the experiments on propeller-ice interaction carried out by the 24th ITTC ice Ice committee. The Committee should work in conjunction with the Specialist Committee on Azimuthing Podded Propulsion.


2. Review existing testing procedures used to determine loads and responses of offshore structures in ice with the objective of developing a Guideline.


3. Develop a procedure for ship tank testing in brash ice. Attention should be paid to the mode where the stern of a ship fitted with podded propellers is used for breaking brash ice.
