The Cataloque of Facilities collected and edited by the 21st
ITTC secretariet may be found here.
Information about the facilities of individual organisations
may be obtained from the web sites of the member organisations, whose Internet addresses are linked to the Member Organisations page of this ITTC Web Site.
Each member organisation is requested to continuously provide
updated details of its facilities to the ITTC secretariet using a catalogue page for each of its facilities according to the standard format.
The standard format, which was adopted in the 15th ITTC, for towing tanks and seakeeping and manoeuvring basins is shown in Fig. 1a and the format for circulating water channels and cavitation tunnels is shown in Fig. 1b. The general instructions are as follows:
1. All contributions should be made on size A4 paper (297 by 210 mm) and details of each facility should use metric (SI) units. A 25 mm margin should be left on the left side of the paper and a 10 mm margin on the right side.
2. Entries shown in parenthesis on the outline sheets in Fig. 1 should be replaced by the indicated information and sketches should be provided as appropriate. Capital letters should be used for the major headings and lower case letters for the characteristics of the facilities.
3. The sketch of the plan and sections can be similar to those used in the Catalogue in the Proceedings of the 13th ITTC. More room has now been provided for sketches of carriages and working sections of tunnels.
4. If more space is required for a particular entry, all succeeding entries may be shifted down in order to give a good overall appearance to the page. Entries should also be deleted entirely if they are not appropriate to the facilities. (For example, a given facility may not have an irregular wave capability or may not have a permanent location of a torque and thrust dynamometer, etc.)
5. The other side of the catalogue page may be used to add other relevant information such as photographs, diagrams of data acquisition and computing system, more detailed descriptions of instrumentation or tests performed in the facilities,
etc.
The use of these instructions is demonstrated by the examples shown in Fig. 2a and Fig. 2b for a towing tank and a seakeeping & manoeuvring basin respectively. Fig. 3 contains a description of a cavitation tunnel using the proposed standard format.
